Volunteer recruitment
The Kanagawa Ward International Lounge is seeking volunteers to support our activities.
We are currently looking for volunteers in the followings:
1) Native Language Support and Interpretation
Providing support at elementary and junior high schools in Kanagawa Ward
2) Japanese Language Classes
Assisting with volunteer-led Japanese language classes at the lounge and other locations
3) Learning Support Classes
Supporting learning programs for children at the lounge and other venues
4) Event Support
Helping with events organized by The Kanagawa Ward International Lounge
Native Language Support and Interpretation Volunteers
We are seeking volunteers to work in elementary and junior high schools in Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama.
We welcome individuals who have completed high school and can communicate in both Japanese and another language (no certification required). Volunteers will help children adjust to school life and provide support during classes using their native language.
After registering as a “Native Language Support Volunteer” at the lounge, you will be contacted when a school requests assistance. Activity dates will be arranged in consultation with the teacher in charge.

Volunteers for Japanese Language Classes
We are looking for volunteers to support Japanese language classes run by community organizations.
Classes are held at the Kanagawa Ward International Lounge and other public facilities within the ward.
We will discuss your interests and availability in detail and give you a tour of the classroom.
Please feel free to visit the Kanagawa Ward International Lounge during our opening hours—no reservation is required.

Learning Support Class Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to support tutoring classes run by community organizations.
Classes are held at the Kanagawa Ward International Lounge and other public facilities within the ward.
The students are elementary and junior high school students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Applicants who can communicate in Japanese will be given preference.
We will discuss your interests and availability in detail and give you a tour of the classroom.
