On November 5, 2023, the Minato Festival was held at Kanagawa Public Hall for the first time in three years. At our booth, we will be selling “Mie Goreng” prepared at Kanagawa Ward’s only Indonesian restaurant, “Dapor Konen”.
Preparation for setup etc.
At 9 a.m., we went to the Indonesian restaurant “Dapor Konen” to pick up some sweets and begin preparations for setting up. The outside booth was organized by the Kanagawa Ward Multicultural Coexistence Association, Tanpopo Rokkakubashi, Tomoyu Space, and international relations teams.
Mee Goreng sales started
We were worried about the weather, but it cleared up while we were setting up, so we were relieved. Around 11 o’clock, I went to pick up the completed mie goreng and started selling them. Half of the 50 servings of mie goreng and sweets were purchased by those involved, but by 1:20 p.m., they were happily sold out.
First time selling food
Food labeling required for food sales. We successfully cleared this requirement and the sale of “Mie Goreng”, which was made possible with the cooperation of the Indonesian restaurant “Dapor Konen”, was a wonderful experience.
