Last year, we invited the students to the multicultural lounge on March 21st due to the connections we had made at Yokohama Suiran High School’s part-time Halloween and Christmas parties.
This day was made possible after many meetings and communications with enthusiastic teachers.
Approximately 25 people, including teachers, visited the museum.

welcome to the lounge

Students will visit from around 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, which is the same time as regular class hours.
They came on foot and by bus from Suiran High School.
There is one bus per hour between Mitsuzawa and Higashi-Kanagawa Station.

We prepared light snacks (bread and drinks) to welcome everyone.

Event details

We broke the ice by playing a game where we divided into two groups and had to communicate our birthdays through gestures and line up in order of birthday.
It was so exciting. The tension seemed to have completely eased.

The facility director talked about multicultural coexistence and introduced the lounge.
We also watched a video of Minamiyoshida Elementary School, which has the most foreign students in Yokohama. (Source: Nippon TV News)

Mr. Hosaka, a tax accountant, gave a lecture based on his own experience.
The message is, “If you work hard, you can make it happen; everyone has potential.”

Words from a passionate teacher.

Finally, we took a commemorative photo.
